Final Fantasy Resonance reveals more details about Zoldaad Empire and Mysidia
Square Enix and developer Lancarse have revealed more details about Final Fantasy Resonance, including new information on the game's locations, characters and progression systems.
The latest update introduces the Zoldaad Empire and Mysidia, two new areas that expand the game's setting. Square Enix has also revealed additional characters and shared more details about how Visions and espers fit into the game.
New locations and characters
The Zoldaad Empire and Mysidia give players a closer look at the wider world of Final Fantasy Resonance. The newly released material also introduces more members of the cast, adding further context to the people and places players will encounter during the story.
Alongside the new locations and characters, Square Enix has provided additional information about Visions and espers. Both are familiar concepts to Final Fantasy fans, but they have a role to play within Resonance's own systems and setting.
Optional content and endgame challenges
There will also be content to explore after the main story. Square Enix has confirmed a number of completionist elements, including challenging enemies and secret dungeons for players who want to continue exploring the game beyond its main objectives.
Some of these encounters are designed to provide a tougher challenge than what players face during the main adventure. The secret dungeons in particular give completion-focused players additional areas to discover, while powerful enemies provide another reason to continue developing their characters after finishing the story.
This means the main storyline is not necessarily the end of the experience. Players who enjoy finding optional content and taking on the game's more difficult challenges will have additional objectives to work through once the main adventure is complete.
More details ahead of release
The new information also comes with a selection of screenshots showing more of the game's characters and environments. While the latest reveal does not answer every question about Final Fantasy Resonance, it offers a clearer picture of the locations, systems and additional content that will make up the game.
Final Fantasy Resonance is being developed by Lancarse and published by Square Enix. More information is expected as the game approaches its release.
