GTA V Mod Adds Mining, Fishing and Jobs to Rockstar's Open-World Sandbox
Grand Theft Auto V is usually associated with heists, car chases and criminal mayhem, but a new community mod gives players a very different way to spend their time in Los Santos. Roleplay Alone adds a dedicated job system to GTA V, with multiple types of work and an inventory system connecting the different activities.
Created by DaiRangOk, Roleplay Alone is available through GTA5-Mods.com. The mod was first uploaded on July 15, 2026, and its latest listed update is version 2.9, released on August 1.
A job system for GTA V
Roleplay Alone is designed around the idea of giving players more work-focused activities to pursue in the game's open world. The mod's data is connected to the main G INVENTERY system, allowing the different jobs and their associated gameplay elements to work together.
The project already features several jobs, while the creator says that an unlimited number of additional workplaces can be added using similar work patterns. That gives the system room to expand beyond the activities currently available.
Mining and fishing are among the activities highlighted around the mod, offering a much slower-paced alternative to GTA V's usual missions and criminal activities. Instead of simply completing missions for money, players can spend more time gathering resources and working within the mod's added systems.
Updated for GTA V Enhanced
The latest version also includes changes for GTA V Enhanced, along with additions involving online apartments. The update notes mention several apartment styles, including Modern, Mody, Vibrant, Sharp, Monochrome, Seductive, Regal and Aqua.
Roleplay Alone requires several other GTA V modding tools to run. The listed requirements include Script Hook V, ScriptHookVDotNet, the LUA Plugin for Script Hook V, LemonUI SHVDN3, OpenIV and Enable All Interiors. GTA V Enhanced users also require OpenRPF.
A small but active mod project
Roleplay Alone currently has 1,942 downloads and 22 likes on GTA5-Mods.com. It has also received a perfect 5.0-star rating, although that score is based on just four votes, so it is too early to draw much from the rating.
The project remains a community-made modification and is not an official feature from Rockstar Games. Its appeal instead comes from giving PC players another way to use GTA V's open world, with the job system providing a framework that can potentially grow as more workplaces are added.
DaiRangOk has also published gameplay footage for the project. The author's video for Roleplay Alone can be found through the mod's Nexus Mods video section.
If you're looking for something different from another round of GTA V chaos, Roleplay Alone offers a more unusual alternative: using Los Santos as a place to work, gather resources and experiment with a growing job system.
