Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta Starts Tomorrow Across All Platforms
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta begins tomorrow, August 28, opening the second beta weekend to players across Xbox, PlayStation 5, PC and Nintendo Switch 2.
Unlike the Early Access period that ran from August 21 through August 25, Weekend Two is available to everyone. Players do not need to pre-order the game or enter a beta code to take part.
The Open Beta starts at 10:00 a.m. PT on August 28 and is scheduled to run until 10:00 a.m. PT on September 1. It will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PlayStation 5, Steam, Battle.net and Nintendo Switch 2.
Campaign and Warzone are part of Weekend Two
The beta is not limited to competitive multiplayer. Players can also try Entrenched, a campaign mission set around a large-scale assault involving infantry and armored vehicles.
Activision describes Entrenched as the first campaign mission ever included in a Call of Duty beta. The mission centers on an attempt to prevent a strategically important nuclear power station from being captured.
Weekend Two also adds Warzone Resurgence on Zodiac, a new map built around the DRC Advanced Systems drone assembly and manufacturing headquarters.
Zodiac combines indoor and outdoor combat areas, including offices, rooftops, tunnels and shoreline sections. Players can also complete Contracts that reduce the time needed for teammates to redeploy.
Multiplayer remains the main focus
The Open Beta includes a selection of traditional multiplayer modes alongside larger-scale combat. Players can jump into Core 6v6 matches as well as Ground War: Combat Outpost and other beta content.
The beta also gives players access to the new movement system, which includes climbing and descending pipes, moving while hanging from ledges, and aiming or firing while suspended.
Progress made during the beta can unlock rewards that will carry over to the full game. The maximum beta level increases to Level 30 during Weekend Two, allowing players to unlock all eight available beta rewards.
